As part of an assignment with the ADB, the Verdurous team contributed to the feasibility study for retrofitting public buildings with energy efficient and clean heating solutions in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic. Six schools were chosen for the pilot study, during which a Detailed Energy Audit (DEA) was undertaken and completed. Inputs from DEA were provided to the Verdurous team for incorporation of relevant data into the financial and economic analyses. The team visited the project schools to understand the existing heating systems including variants of coal-fired water boilers and electric boilers. The financial analysis entailed the preparation of long-term projections for the estimated project 25-year-life of the project assets. In addition, the economic analysis entailed the estimation of economic and social benefits for the projected useful life of the assets. The FIRR and EIRR formed the basis for project related decision making by the Municipality, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the ADB.
